The\npublic parcel service, which carries no owner data, is the correct layer for\npublic use.\n\nREFRESHED MONTHLY\nRebuilt each month from the SanGIS download, replacing all features. The\nschema is inherited from SanGIS rather than mapped, so no field matching is\nrequired and no attributes are silently dropped.\n\nVALUES ARE NORMALIZED\nSanGIS delivers owner names and address fields in all capitals. This layer\napplies proper casing on load, so it intentionally differs from the SanGIS\nsource. Casing handles directionals (N, S, E, W), street types, ordinals\n(4th), Mc and Mac names, apostrophes, hyphenated surnames, and business\nsuffixes (LLC, Inc, Corp).\n\nOWNERSHIP CODES EXTRACTED\nSanGIS embeds Change in Ownership processing codes inside owner names, in\nangle brackets, for example SMITH JOHN followed by a bracketed DD. These are\nremoved from the name and stored in OWN_CODE so they do not appear in\ncorrespondence or mailings.\nDD - transfer on death deed. LF - leased from. LE - life estate.\nDV - Department of Veterans Affairs. PF - purchase contract.\n\nDERIVED NUMERIC FIELDS\nSanGIS delivers bedroom, bath and stall counts as three-character strings\nwith leading zeros, with an implied decimal in BATHS. Clean numeric versions\nare provided and should be used for sorting, filtering and analysis. The raw\nstrings are retained for fidelity but hidden by default.\nBEDROOMS_N (short) from BEDROOMS, where 004 means 4.\nBATHS_N (float) from BATHS, where 025 means 2.5.\nGARAGE_STALLS_N (short) from GARAGE_STALLS.\nCARPORT_STALLS_N (short) from CARPORT_STALLS.\n\nCODED VALUES\nGeodatabase domains are attached to DOCTYPE, TAXSTAT, SUB_TYPE, FRACTINT,\nNUCLEUS_ZONE_CD, GARAGE_CONVERSION, POOL and OWNEROCC, so codes display as\ndescriptions throughout.\n\nFIELDS EXCLUDED FROM SANGIS\nEach excluded on SanGIS's own documented grounds.\nX_COORD and Y_COORD are centroid coordinates, redundant with the geometry.\nSITUS_BUILDING is documented by SanGIS as a blank field.\nYEAR_EFFECTIVE is not Y2K compliant and SanGIS states it must not be used to\ndetermine property age.\nASR_ZONE and ASR_LANDUSE are legacy, irregularly maintained, and superseded\nby NUCLEUS_ZONE_CD and NUCLEUS_USE_CD.\nMULTI is an Assessor mapping-division labeling flag.\nPAR_VIEW is an appraisal input only.\n\nREGISTERED UNVERSIONED\nNothing edits this layer by hand; it is a monthly mirror of SanGIS.
